Petition Jefferson County Public Schools Colorado to Comply with Title IX

Biological males occupy 61 positions on girls' sports teams across the district.

During an overnight trip to Washington D.C., a 10 year old girl was assigned to share a bed with a biological male.

Males are peering over female bathroom stalls, leaving females afraid to use them.

Jefferson County Schools 6th graders attend a weeklong Outdoor Lab trip the mountains and frequently inform their parents that older high school leaders and peers of the opposite sex share intimate sleeping and showering spaces.

The U.S Department of Education Office of Civil Rights found Jefferson County Public Schools violated Title IX and has given them 10 days to comply.  Privacy is breached and opportunity is lost due to Jefferson County's "Transgender Equal Opportunity" policy JB R-2.

"My child came home from Outdoor Lab unsettled after sharing sleeping and shower spaces with an older high school leader of the opposite sex. I was never informed or given opportunity to opt out."  -Jefferson County Parent

“Female students have reported males using our school’s restrooms and peering over stalls. There are gender-neutral restrooms available for students to use. It is sad and disappointing to see our girls put in this position.” -Jefferson County Public Schools Employee

“My middle school daughter was using the restroom and taking care of her female hygiene when a biological male peered over the stall.” -Jefferson County Public Schools Parent

“My Kindergartener came home from school and told me her teacher announced that a boy in their classroom would now be using the girl’s bathroom.  I confirmed this with the teacher.  My daughter is uncomfortable and confused.”-Jefferson County Public Schools Parent

“Our daughter left class one day to use the restroom. She walked into the girls' restroom at school to find a boy and girl engaged in an "intimate moment." She left the restroom and went to tell an administrator that there was a boy in the girls bathroom. The administrator "investigated" and the boy (who was known by students to generally identify as male) told the school staff that he is transgender. So...nothing was done. Nowhere in any response were my concerns for my daughter's feelings or concerns for her safety and privacy in a female space addressed.” -Jefferson County Public Schools Parent and Teacher
