Awareness empowers individuals to fight for their needs and choices. Jeffco Kids First works hard to educate parents and community members on matters pertaining to their children’s education and their rights as parents. This includes education on policy, Jefferson County Public Schools finances, Board of Education meetings, board director decisions, trending controversial curriculum issues, state bills affecting education, and other issues and topics that arise daily.
Jeffco Kids First provides scholarship opportunities for students seeking higher education (including university, trade school, or community colleges). All graduating seniors from Jefferson County (public, charter, private, and homeschool students) are eligible.
Through open records, policy research, and collaborative relationships, Jeffco Kids First seeks fact-based advocacy. Building trusting relationships with decision makers is a top priority. The open records system (CORA) and thorough policy research are used to ensure greater transparency and to support the individual needs of all students and their families.
Jeffco Kids First is eager to support Jefferson County Colorado families, children, and schools through service and outreach efforts. Please contact us if you are aware of a need that fits within our mission!
Jeffco Kids First advocates for individual needs and works diligently to answer questions from individual parents. We offer advice for proper communication channels and help connect families to appropriate decision makers. When matters arise that have a sweeping effect on students and schools, Jeffco Kids First works to address and educate the community on these issues as an organization.
JeffCo Kids First seeks opportunities to bring families and community members together for educational, service, and social events.
